Online Fundraising

Get the word out through social media AND in person no matter which kind of setting you decide for your fundraiser.  If you decide on an in-person event, advertise as a competition with teams to see who can donate the most. Convince people that your event will be a fun way to socialize and meet new people.

Because of my passion for dance, I organized many dances at school. This was a great way to educate and engage my peers. I also decorated donation boxes with information and pictures and dropped them off at stores across my city and sold custom wristbands.

  • Utilize your connections to reach the most people, and your skills to plan the best kind of event. For example, if you are involved with sports, invite your team and the entire league to have a tournament for a cause.
  • Take advantage of your “kid power” because adults will find your story and efforts inspiring- capitalize on that opportunity.
  • Don’t keep asking the same people for money. Instead, make your core audience a part of the team and ask them to introduce you to others. Don’t be afraid to talk to new people.
